English Translation

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of southern Myanmar on October 18, with aftershocks of 3.2. Four Thai provinces felt tremors, but no tsunami risk.

The Thai Meteorological Department confirmed no tsunami threat. Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea water levels are normal.

Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department instructed provinces to monitor aftershocks.
