Gilteritinib, an inhibitor of FLT3 tyrosine kinase developed by Astellas, inhibates FLT3, which carries mutations in the FLT3-ITD gene and mutations in the FLT3 tyrosine kinase protein domain. These two common FLT3 gene variants occur in about a third of patients with AML. Moreover, Xospata inhibited the activity of the AXL receptor in AML cell lines.
